Natalie Phaholyothin, who was recently appointed chief executive officer of WWF Thailand, is eager to use her experience in global health to help WWF contribute to the Kingdom’s transition toward a sustainable future combining the protection of the environment and economic development.

“I look forward to leading the Thailand office toward new successes and to meeting our goals of conserving biodiversity and ecosystems,” she said in a press release issued on Monday.

“WWF Thailand has a strong conservation track record of which I am extremely proud, and I will use my previous experiences to support WWF’s work for even greater impact for Thailand.”

Natalie was previously associate director at The Rockefeller Foundation and involved with global advocacy for Universal Health Coverage, working toward sustainability of a Mekong-based disease-surveillance network and building partnerships with other private foundations and donor institutions.

She oversaw the foundation’s health systems strengthening programme in Asia, where she worked closely with ministries of health regionally and globally, and with international organisations such as the World Health Organisation and the World Bank.

In addition to the health programmes, Natalie served as Asia regional director for the Global Resilience Partnership.

In this capacity, she initiated a strategic portfolio of grants that served to build the partnership’s Asia programme and presence in the region.

Prior to joining The Rockefeller Foundation, Natalie worked with the Education Development Centre, the United Nations Development Programme and the International Monetary Fund.
