Hey friends,

I can't find any information on the steps I need to take to change from my current Non-B extensions for work over to a Non-O marriage or spousal visa. Calling Chaengwattana has been impossible. Has anyone done this? Can it be done at Chaengwattana in a day? Or is it best to simply leave the country and come in fresh with a non-O, then apply for the spousal Visa? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You will need a termination letter from your employer to cancel your current extension so that you can apply for the new extension based upon marriage on the same day.

I assume you are already aware of the the financial requirements and the documents required to apply for the extension.

Also you will get a under consideration stamp with a report back date 30 days from the date you apply.

Is it necessary to change from a non-B to a non-O? I originally came on a non-B and extended it based on marriage while I was working. When I retired three years ago I started extending the non-B based on retirement and nothing was ever said at immigration.

I did not say it was needed.

He has to cancel his current extension of stay (it is not a non-b visa) based upon working and the apply for  the extension based upon marriage.

Thanks again Ubonjoe. I got the new extension of stay stamp based on Thai wife after I canceled the stamp based on work. I brought the cancellation letter from my work. FYI, I also had to present my work permit and work contract in this step. Again, thanks!
