New 90 Non-0 for visiting/staying with own Thai children

I’m going to get a new Non-O visa. Normally I drive the car from Pattaya to Mukdahan but would prefer flying out of  U-TPao or Bangkok. Any suggestions of the best place to option a new visa without money in the bank. I had never had problems in Savannakhet but I’m tired of the long drive. I would also like to experience another country in S-E Asia

Vientiane for a single entry non-o visa based upon being the parent of a Thai.

Savannakhet by using Nok Air's or Air Asia's fly/ride service to Mukdahan.

The consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Thanks a lot. So more exotic places like KL or Jakarta aren’t advisable?

KL and Jakarta want to see 400k baht in the bank to get one.

Yangon might be another option.
