Thanks for posting that interesting article, Mike. Greatly enjoyed reading it. Mostly due to the part where Bessent, who had previously not supported tariffs enthusiastically, says: "“I’ve evolved on this. The president has been right.” He has also described tariffs as “a useful tool for achieving the president’s foreign policy objectives”" So Bessent, intelligent man that he is, a billionaire fund manager, concedes that Trump was right on tariffs all along. So Trump can out-think even economics professors from Yale, who worked with George Soros and made millions on Wall Street. We are so lucky to have such intelligent men in charge of government now. As for the shrill squawkings of Steve Schmidt, one can hardly take them seriously, did you know he attended the University of Delaware? I say "attended" because he failed to graduate. He left three credits short of graduation because he did not pass a math course. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Schmidt So I don't think Steve Schmidt is well placed to opine on financial matters, now or in the past. Schmidt is also a well known political traitor, who switched camps from Republicans to support Joe Biden's campaign.
