Work Permit with a Visa Exemption

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Sure this question has been answered before, so apologies if it has. Did have a look but couldn’t find anything specific to this.

I have a work permit and had the normal visa/extension/90 day report that goes with it. My work will be finishing the end of March, so my work permit will be cancelled and I will need to leave anyway. Had to leave Thailand for a few days, yesterday, and will be returning soon. Whilst leaving I realised that there would be less than 30 days remaining of my work when I return anyway, so what would be the point of the re entry permit. May as well save the money I would spend on the re entry.

So, it’s too late now anyway, but when I return on a 30-day visa exemption, will my work permit still be valid? Does anyone foresee any problem that may arise in this situation when reentering?

Thanks

You can not work on a visa exempt stamp if that's what you are asking about.

Technically your work permit will be invalid since it requires a non immigrant visa to have one.

You can no longer work if that is what you are asking about.

Ok, that’s fine. I’m really only returning to tie up some loose ends. Do you think I’ll have any problems coming through immigration?

No problems.

Great, thanks for that.
