Filipina teacher with visa and work permit, Pakistani husband on O visa. What is required for extension?

Featured Replies

A friend of mine is a Filipina, working legitimately as a teacher with a work permit.  She recently married a Pakistani man who has a 3 month Non-immigrant "O" visa. What paperwork is required by Immigration to extend his 3 month "O" Visa (spouse) for 12 months?

Does the Wife have a 12 month extension from Immigration?

If so he can get a 12 month extension for being her husband.

Their marriage certificate and some paperwork from the school to prove she is still working. What is needed can vary at different immigration offices.

His extension of stay (it is not a visa) would be issued to the date her current extension ends.
