16th National Herb Expo opens at Muang Thong Thani

 

   

NONTHABURI, 7 March 2019 (NNT) - The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) is encouraging the general public to visit the National Herb Expo 2019 until 10 March at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani exhibition center.

 

Public Health Minister Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn presided over the opening ceremony of the 16th National Herb Expo at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani exhibition center in Nonthaburi.

 

He said this year’s expo, held under the theme of "Thai Herb, Thai Massage, Thai Future," aims to promote health benefits from herbs and Thai massage as well as promoting those products and services to help boost the national economy.

 

The MOPH has aimed to upgrade the standards of traditional Thai and alternative medicine and promote the popularity and widespread application of herbal products and positioning Thailand as a hub of herbal products in the ASEAN region.

 

The MOPH has planned to enlist the Thai massage as an intangible cultural heritage with UNESCO later this year, and promote Thai medicine and herbs in wellness and health-oriented tourism.

 

Department for Development of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM) Director General Marut Jirasrattasiri said the expo features academic conferences on various topics including medical marijuana, training sessions, business matching sessions between manufacturers and importers, Thai herbal products sales and showcases, along with alternative and Thai medicine healthcare services.

 

The expo is taking place from today until 10 March 2019 at Halls 10-12, IMPACT exhibition center, Nonthaburi.
