HLover
Hello, Selling a laptop and wish to clear all my information (not the OS) before transferring to the new owner. Is there a recommended way to accomplish this?
stud858
Your laptop will most likely have a factory restore option. Usually pressing a fn function key many times after first turning the computer on from a complete shutdown. Google "factory restore" with your model number. You'll find out which fn key to press and possibly a good YouTube video. It's by far the easiest and safest way. But, and there's always a but. The computer will take a while to do its own thing. Just be nearby to select some possible options like language setting etc. If you struggle help is always here. Good luck chuck.
stud858
You could delete files folders, bookmarks, histories, use third party clearing apps, etc, but it may play on your mind that there's still some tiny thing you forgot like the saucy ladyboy picture in a hidden folder you forgot to delete. Been there, done that. Hahasheshe

Moonlover
On Windows 10 this is quite easy. Open the start panel and click 'settings'. Select 'Update & Security'. In the LH menu pane select 'Recovery'. The first choice is 'reset this PC'. Click 'Get started' and follow the instructions.
