"Thank you wonderful Thais" - honest cabby gets reward from Chinese man

A Chinese man who left his bag in a Bangkok taxi was soon reunited with his passport and money. 

 

Speaking through an interpreter Mr Shi Wen said at FM 91 that he would like to thank all the wonderful Thai people for helping to get his property back to him. 

 

The honest cabby this time was Samran Wetchaya who drives green and yellow cab number 1มค (mor khor) 3222 (Bangkok plates).

 

He said that at 11 am on Monday he had picked up the Chinese man but couldn't understand a word he was saying and couldn't work out his destination. So he ultimately refused the fare.

Later he discovered that the passenger had left his black bag that contained 40,259 baht, some Yuan and a passport. 

 

He contacted a hotline number of FM 91 who did the rest. 

 

The Chinese man had reported his loss to the Bang Ken police. 

 

Mr Shi Wen rewarded Samran with 2,000 baht for his honesty.

Fake story because no taxi driver would let you in his cab before he know your destination and how much you want pay so this Chinese man have never been in the car more likely he got angry and of the Chinese tourist and say no I don't want drive you In a bad attitude 

The point is not to understand who is who in the picture or text. .. only that a good taxi driver returned money to a foreign tourist. The template is set up ahead of time, only the nationality and amount of money returned needs to be filled in. The sex of tourist was left over from last reported incident.

So that is what I call the other end of the two teenagers who got nicely creamed by their fellow country man with a cabbie fare of THB 900 each, total THB 1'800 from the Mochit bus terminal to Don Meaouaniong Airport, usually reachable at an exorbitant metre reading of THB 200 ............. 

Maybe it is the airport's new name, maybe it is Khon Thai taking another Khon Thais for a ride (no pun intended) or maybe it is just ignorant alien writing like mine ....... 

Are all the hotels in Thailand owned by the Chinese? It seems like. Bangkok is like San Francisco on steroids with cold, rude and phony people.

They are fast with cabbie story now after the attack of American tourist in Phi Phi ...

If these 'honest cabby' stories are FAKE, sooner or later some disgruntled player will spill the beans.

Then let's see how TAT worms its way out of that bit of FAKE news.

they seem to have a lot of nice cabbies in thailand. funny though whenever i try and get one they will say no right away or i get in and they refuse to turn on the meter.

What have your granny's words of wisdom got to do with this when there is no self-praise involved.  Was the taxi driver (there is no one else to do so) self-praising?  No, he wasn't. 

 

And don't try to say that this is Thailand doing the self-praising, it isn't, it's a private radio station that reported this.

Every time there is a bit of bad press, and foreigners are involved up pops are totally unbelievable story about a foreigner being reunited with a fantastically large amount of cash appears, no stories ever of a cabbie returning 300/500 baht, only tens of thousands.

Well if someone spills the beans the taxi mafia is simply gonna hunt him down and shoot this bastard and get back to business....
