I have a Non-B visa that is valid until the begnning of May, but the job at the school hasn't worked out so I will not proceed with getting a work permit. Can the school cancel the Non-B visa or will it merely expire in May? 

I hope it is the latter, as I will need time to relocate.

Your 90 day entry from the non-b visa will remain valid. The school cannot have it canceled.
