Emotional moment Whoopi Goldberg surprises her The View co-hosts after nearly dying from sepsis during her battle with pneumonia

It was an emotional morning for the hosts of The View as their beloved co-host Whoopi Goldberg surprised them with an appearance after nearly dying from sepsis. 

Goldberg has been on sick leave from The View for the past month. She revealed last week that she had been battling pneumonia in both lungs.

But on Thursday, the 63-year-old shocked her teary-eyed co-hosts with a special visit. 

Just moments after Joy Behar told viewers that 'Whoopi is still on the mend', Goldberg walked onto the set where she was immediately greeted by a cheering audience.
