There are more banks there than there are Wangs in a Shanghai phone book.

Given that you need to show activity on day of application, I think its good idea to do at bank CW. They do so many they already know what you need. Its ~ 200 for the letter and 100 to deposit into your a/c. They will photo copy that last page showing your activity. One small tip. With your form for extension already filled in walk passed desk where the crazy folk are collecting forms..inside desk to collect your ticket #, then go to bank. The bank gig might take 15 min. Then go in and take a seat for hour or 4

There used to be AUSTRALIAN bank but they had to close because au embassy wouldn't allow them to provide "letter"

I know that the Krungsri branch there at CW will issue Immigration letters for people who have Krungsri accounts at other branches, not just at CW...  I believe the BKKB branch there may have a similar policy...

Indeed and not found in the directory.

Their location finder shows a branch at Laksi IT Square.

Quite a a bit off from government complex and it's a shopping mall micro branch opening at 11 AM.

 

A bit offtopic: TMB and Thanachart are in talks for a merger.
