Work permit. Going out of thailand for a brief period

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

So basically I'm going out of Thailand to briefly visit my family. I have a B Visa and I'm planning to come back on a Tourist Visa to then apply for a B Visa in savannaket. Will I be able to use the same work permit and teaching waiver with the new b Visa? Also I'm planning to renew my passport in my home country. What is the best course of action?

As your post is more about your immigration status in Thailand, rather than your trip home, I'll move this to the appropriate forum.

What do you actually have now? Are you on the 90 day entry from a non-b visa or extension of stay issued by immigration?

I have an extension of stay

Thanks for your reply

Unless your extension is expiring while out of the country all you need to do is get a re-entry permit to keep it valid.

If you have a re-entry permit you use both passports on entry to the country to use it by showing your old passport and they will stamp you into the country in the new passport.

That's great. Thank you very much.
