extending visa exempt for 60 days?

Featured Replies

i'm here on a 30 day visa exempt (US passport) and someone told me i should be able to extend by 60 days because i'm married to a Thai. is that correct and what do i need to show at immigration?

thx

You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife. She will need to be with you when you apply for it.

You will need your marriage certificate plus a copy, copies of her house book registry and ID card.

You will also need to prove of your address.

What is needed to show for your address varies by office, but involves either docs from your landlord or condo-ownership proof.   You may also need to have an up-to-date TM-30 filed - again, varying by office.  I would apply a week early, so you have time to react to any additional document requests and return.

You will have to it at the main office since it is not a tourist based extension.

What is the "standard" (i.e. not for visiting Thai wife) extension for a 30-day visa exempt entry?
