Does ED visa require a degree ?!

Featured Replies

Hi,

we are about to ask in Laos our ED.

We got a bunch of papers signed by our school and the ministry in Surthani (maybe 25-30 docs ).

I just read here an old post about a denied ED for lake of university degree.

https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/747638-ed-visa-denied/

I have one, my Asian gf don’t.

School said it doesn’t matter, just asked me

to write in the application if I have one.

They say you don’t need it.

They said never got an rejection in Laos.

Website will not show this requirement.

Do we need to worry ?

ED visa dont need any degree at all. I never asked for any degree since I dont have at all. Nothing to worries about.

That topic is almost 5 years old. That is no longer a problem if applying in Kuala Lumpur and no reports of it being needed at any nearby location.

But KL has this on their checklist "7. Certified criminal record in the applicant’s country of origin or in Thailand (for private course/program provider only)" Source: http://www.thaiembassy.org/kualalumpur/contents/images/text_editor/files/8_1 Non Immigrant ED Study(1).pdf

No problem for the degree or police clearance since they are not required.
