A Paraguayan tourist shed tears of joy as he praised Thailand for its legendary honesty.

Mr Fernando had been reunited with his fanny pack after he left it in a taxi from Don Muang airport last week, reported TNews.

Inside was his passport and cards, $955 in US money and 772,000 guarani (about $125). The cash was worth about 30,000 baht.

Mr Fernando checked that all was there then wrote a letter to cabby Niwat Phromchart who drives yellow vehicle ทห (thor hor) 9499 (Bangkok plates).

The letter - with a 1,000 baht reward enclosed - said: "Thank you so much. I was litterally (sic) dead. You save my trip and my return to home. Lot of blessings to you. Thank you!"

Mr Fernando was located after the taxi driver went to JS 100 radio station who contacted the tourist police and used Facebook alerts to get in touch.

Wiping back the tears Mr Fernando praised Thai people for their honesty and said he was so happy when he heard the news and headed to the radio station with joy in his heart.

His passport was the most important thing but getting every cent of his money back was a fantastic bonus.

He was reunited with his bag on Monday April 1st.

Why bother commenting on these ridiculous stories?

Nuff said.

In the old days a 10 % rewards was normal

so 30000 b = 3000 b

Please stop it.... it's starting to get nauseating !

It's taken nearly a week to print this Bo//ox That is nearly a week after the Pooket taxi scum beat up a guy. Media are getting a bit slow with their honest cabbie cr@p stories

They have to deliver it in small doses, whenever things look bad out comes a story. I think the guy was tear gassed until he agreed to write the letter.

Oh you doubting Thomas, off to the taxi ranks with you.

Even though this is yet another sob story, honest taxi driver episode, the B1000 was a reward not a tip. The gesture by the Paraguayan was enough. That's a case and a half of Chang for the driver.

Lovely story, such doom and gloom everywhere. Cabbies details are clear for all to contact him, feel free to commend him on his honesty.

It's become quite clear to me that taxi drivers should be running the country. They seem to be the main ones who are contributing to Thailand's reputation for being one of such pristine honesty. I can't understand how hundreds of thousands of tourists have been fleeced in Thailand with the influence of all those incredibly honest taxi drivers to guide the rest of the population.

And off to Grab for you perhaps ? ????

My  bucket of  sick overfloweth.

Legendary honesty! This guy must have been under drugs or pressure from TAT or the PM by itself!!
