How to get your smile back when your exhaust turns black! Thai media reveals all

Caption: Black exhaust doubts: What to do to get your smile back!

Daily News said that the problem of having black exhaust coming out of your vehicle was a subject of personal annoyance and annoyance to others.

But it was really quite simple to solve the problem.

Even if it did involve, Thaivisa notes, that thorny issue many Thais like to skirt around:

Maintenance.

In a feature called "Roo Korn Yiap" (know before you press (on the accelerator)) they gave a handy seven point guide that will restore your smile and those around you especially in these smoggy days.

* Change your engine oil frequently - every three to six months should do the trick

* Check your filters

* Do repairs and maintain the important bits in the fuel lines

*Check your pumps

*Clean your exhaust

and finally

*Avoid carrying heavy loads.

Simple.

They should have added, "Check your brakes regularly"

not so easy as they say to stop truck smoking, maybe

need to clean injectors, and the diesel here is not of

good quality.

As the "law" regarding weight limits is rarely enforced why should they bother? if they did it would disqualify about 95% of the heavy goods vehicles.

At least most have plenty of mirrors so they can see behind - what's that all about - does the average Thai go - WOW - how cool - look at all those mirrors and Michelin men! & that exhaust so noisy and polluting :shock1:

Shame they don't spend more time looking forwards...............

The "MOT" road worthiness certificates here are so obviously a token effort as "conditions" never enforced.

Over fueling is the cause of black smoke so if you mean overhauling the common rail, which is the most common cause of over fueling, then yes. However, I can't see Thais spending thousands on repairing a vehicle that drives "perfectly."

I feel your pain bros, tolerable if your a tourist but it’s no longer fun if the Pattaya Central vicinity is your 24/7 home, by the way you forgot to mention the Indian & Chinese tourists plus the noise & the flooding blah blah.

It sounds idyllic and I hear the newly rebuilt, long, golden strand is superb and picture perfect.

How about the authorities checking the diesel for correct manufacture ?

Can't touch the "big boys"

Overhaul the engine comes to my mind.

Yes, yes... but what are the negative points?

Rooster

Looks about normal.  Inspection:  PASS!  ????

Most of the posters would not understand "common rail" or "over fueling"

I found the post to be sad. "Check oil filters" - no, change oil and fuel filters at a scheduled time based on hours since the last change (250 hours mostly)

The whole maintenance schedule was glib at least and factually wrong in order to run a safe, fuel efficient and roadworthy vehicle.

Having said that, I find most long haul trucks to be modern and efficient. It is local short haul trucks that need attention and no authority seems interested in checking them.

200 BAHT fine and you are good to go and of course everyone knows the black smoke is desirable and looks cool.
