The foreign diplomat corps will just ignore the non elected coup government like they ignore all their extradition requests. They really have the lowest regards for military that seized power illegitimately. Well maybe with the expection of countries like China, North Korea and Myanmar.

Right, Eric (above). And that contempt for, and disgust with, the junta will only increase now in view of the blatant election rigging and political persecution of Thanathorn.

Thailand could be entering new international diplomatic waters and sanctions (hope springs eternal ....!).

Lecture at the universities around the globe on diplomacy "how to shoot oneself into the own foot". If they would have let things just happen (and nothing illegal happened otherwise the Thai foreign ministry can declare all these diplomats "personae non grata") nobody would have taken note of it.

What was so inappropriate in witnessing how Thailand treats a runner-up party leader. 

In closing, Thailand, like many other countries, including the "UK, the US and several European countries, have been using the system of military courts". Could Thailand be a little more precise with this statement; the last civilians processed under military rules was after 1945 in Nurembourg. Everything else later on was/is processed by the International Court of Justice (like Thailand's ongoing issue with the Khao Phra Viharn temple complex).

We know there was at least one ambassador not spoken to - USA has no ambassador to Thailand.

Is that why they applied sanctions, tariffs, advised their nationals not to come here, and stopped their businesses from investing here?

 

Oh wait, none of the above happened!
