I am overstayed on my Visa, I ordered a package which incurred fees and is being held at the Thai post

 

If I go to get it will they check my Visa date or do they just use the passport for name verification? Thanks

They will just use it to verify you are you.  If you are really paranoid, make a photocopy of just the main page with your photo and such, that will probably do the job and they can't check the visa.  

They only look at the passport for identification purposes. They will only look at the photo page.

The PO in Chiang Mai has accepted my Thai Driver License as ID.
