Husband kills himself after suicide threat on Line to estranged wife

By The Nation

A man hanged himself in his house in Samut Sakhon province on Friday evening after making a suicide threat to his estranged wife via a Line chat message, police said.

The Krathumban Police Station was alerted at 6.30pm to the death of Warat Maphu, 26, the son of the owner of a house in Tambon Tha Mai in Krathumban district .

A doctor determined that he had died about one or two hours earlier.

The man's wife, Sureechai Roschoom, 23, sobbed and told police that she had received a chat message via Line from Warat that he would commit suicide if she did not return home. Sureechai said she had left him and gone to stay with her father a week ago after Warat allegedly became jealous and abusive and often beat her up.

Sureechai said Warat suffered an accident a year ago and broke his leg after which he was unemployed.

Sureechai said Warat became jealous and feared that she would have a new husband and often quarrelled with her, prompting her to move out.

Sureechai said Warat sent a lot of Line messages to her, asking her to return home and promising to behave well. She said she was planning to return but wanted to make sure her husband really loved her and would not become abusive again.

Of course by killing himself it puts an end to any possible reconciliation and leaves her free to start another hopefully less abusive relationship. Apart from the distress to his family seems like a good result all round, and a pointless gesture by the man child.

If true, then this man’s death is no loss.

Rip. This is one of the"good guys".

A good guy does not beg his estranged wife to come home after beating her, or by posting he will commit suicide if she does not do as he asks.. that's called blackmail where I come from... a definite reason for her to stay away from him as he is un-balanced in the head!

Outcome... she made the right choice... the "nutter is dead" she's very much alive !

Quite possibly clinically unbalanced i.e. depressed. Where would you go for treatment of such in Samut Sakhon?
