Featured Replies

Hello All

Can I get a 60 day tourist visa in  Savannakhet?

Regards LL

You get a single entry tourist visa there if you present the required documents.

The want to see a statement from your bank showing the equivalent of at least 20k baht in it.

So only 30 days?

A single entry tourist visa allows one 60 day entry.

Can anyone apply for one regardless of what nationality you have?

Any nationality can apply for a single entry tourist visa.

The only restriction is that those from some countries can only apply for visas in their home country.

Question for a friend that plan this, He is not living here, means he does not have bankbook in Thailand, just cash and visa card so would cash work for him? As I can't think anyone on holiday brings bankbook from their home country

They will not accept cash.

Many people use a printout or screenshot of their online banking statement for their bank account in their home country.

ok  thanks Ubonjoe, you saved my friend a lot of problems, thanks

Ubonjoe, how does this work regarding how old the latest update of your bankbook/statement is bearing in mind you may not be able to get an update and travel to thailand the same day or can you just use an online statement for the same day?

The will accept a printout of the online statement.

They do not expect the bank book or statement to be up to date on the day you apply.

If you are in Thailand and have a Thai bank book you could update the book shortly before you start your trip to apply for the visa.

Is there anywhere you can get a METV apart from in your own country? Tia

Don’t think so. Not in  SE Asia anyway.
