WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he is opposed to current and former White House aides testifying to congressional committees on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia report, according to the Washington Post.

In an interview with the newspaper, Trump said the White House cooperated with Mueller's investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and did not need to comply with congressional committees, which are probing possible obstruction of justice by Trump.

"There is no reason to go any further, and especially in Congress where it’s very partisan — obviously very partisan," Trump said, according to the Post.

Good. Give the left nothing. Clear as day all they want to do is use political power to go after their political rivals.

The Titanic has started to leak.

State Rep. Andy McKean, Iowa’s longest-serving Republican, said he was registering as a Democrat because Trump sets a “poor example for the nation.”

“Furthermore, [Trump] sets, in my opinion, a poor example for the nation and particularly for our children by personally insulting, often in a crude and juvenile fashion, those who disagree with him, being a bully at a time when we’re attempting to discourage bullying, his frequent disregard for the truth, and his willingness to ridicule or marginalize people for their appearance, ethnicity or disability,” the representative said.

Congress power to investigate was upheld by the supreme court in 1975. It is not up to the judiciary to decide no matter how politically motivated or whacked out it may be. Eastland v USF(United servicemen foundation). As is the case with IRS not giving up his tax returns. There are two people in the whole country who can request and treasury shall provide anybody's or any corporation returns. One is the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and the other is the chairman of the House Ways and Means committee. Good luck Donnie

A State rep,one out of 7k to change over ! He is not a Iowa congressman or senator! I would love to see someone who represents change take on Immigration, economy and globalism  ,which has haunted America for 60 years! I don't see it happening ! Who knows maybe America hates Trump so much(media propaganda) just to spite him.they would vote for  far left as opposed to centrist! What the left and media are doing to this country is far more dangerous in IMOP  . I am a Independent voter(no party)

And there you have it.  The way Richard Nixon put it: "the American people are tired of hearing about Watergate."

Ahh... what a simpler times they were

Republicans are stepping up as potential presidential candidates for 2020.  Could there be some buzz within the ranks that the incumbent may be otherwise encumbered?

Hey, there is no constitution!  The Mueller report proved that.  Oh wait, that was collusion.  No matter, neither collusion nor constitution appear in the redacted report, so it's total vindication.

Except for those 10 obstruction of justice roadmaps in volume 2 of the report. In each case it identified the action the context and intent of each case laid out but could not charge because of DOJ policy if not indicting a sitting president. So no it's far from being 'case closed'. Statue of limitations is 5 years so we shall see
