I was wondering, if anyone has experience doing a border run trip from Satun to Penang by boat. Me and my husband (both EU citizens) are considering this option in combination with staying a week on Penang island. Is it a hassle free border? We would have a SETV with 30 day exention done and then applying for the 30 day exempt coming back to Satun. Any help appreciated! Thanks so much!

From Satun take the ferry to Langkawi island. You can stay there or take another ferry to Penang. You shouldn't have any trouble there but they do insist you stay out of Thailand for at least 24 hours.
