ppcllggf
Hey everyone, I'm sure this question was probably asked before but as I was unable to find any conclusive answers so I'm posting my own. So I've been in Thailand for about a month and a half, my non-immigrant ED visa ends at the beginning of june. Since my exchange program ends mid-june, there is no need for me to extend my ED visa ( apparently the process is tedious and I can save money so... ), but i'm planning on staying in thailand for a bit longer so I was wondering if it was possible to turn my ED visa into a tourist visa at the immigration office. If so, would the tourist visa be valid for 30 days or 60 days ? If not, do I have to leave the country to apply for a tourist visa ? Thanks in advance for the reply. ubonjoe
You cannot change to a tourist visa within the country. You will have to apply for a single entry tourist visa at nearby embassy or consulate. You could do a border hop for a visa exempt entry that can be extended for 30 days at immigration if you qualify for one.
