Thai Foreign Minister to attend Asia Cooperation Dialogue Ministerial Meeting

BANGKOK, 26 April 2019 (NNT) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs is to attend the Asia Cooperation Dialogue Ministerial Meeting promoting six core areas of cooperation by the ACD, and the establishment of an Asian Community by 2030.

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Busadee Santipitaks revealed the Minister of Foreign Affairs Don Pramudwinai will be attending the 16th Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Ministerial Meeting on 1st May in Doha, Qatar, to be held on the theme Partners in Progress.

 

The meeting will focus on the progress of ACD’s six main cooperative pillars, to realize the establishment of the Asian Community by 2030; the raising of ACD awareness and partnership establishment with international organizations and other regional partnerships, following up on current tasks, strengthening the ACD’s Secretariat, and endorsing the Doha declaration.

 

The 16th ACD Ministerial Meeting is seen as an opportunity for Thailand to push for concrete outcomes from the leaders’ meetings, and express Thailand’s role as a founder of the ACD, a permanent coordinator, and a key driver in promoting inclusive and sustainable development, as well as being a supporter of the connectivity between food security, energy, and water security.
