Thanathorn reconfirms legally transferred shares in media firm

BANGKOK, 26 April 2019(NNT)-Future Forward Party leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit has returned to Thailand from Europe where he had taken a study tour of several countries and says he is not worried about the Election Commission’s allegations filed against him over transferred shares in a media firm which, depending on the timing, might see him disqualified to contest the election. He reassured his supporters that his shares had been properly transferred under the required legal process.

 

Upon his arrival at Suvarnabhumi airport, Mr. Thanathorn told reporters that he would take a look at the papers pertaining to the Election Commission’s allegations of the transfer of V-Luck Media Co.’s shares, which could otherwise have caused the disqualification of his electoral candidacy. He said that on Friday he would make an appointment with the Election Commission to clarify the situation in seven days as required by the polling agency. The Future Forward Party leader said he is not worried about it because he had legally transferred his shares in early January.

 

Future Forward Party spokesperson, Phannikar Wanit earlier announced that Mr. Thanathorn would personally make a clarification to the Election Commission over the transfer of V-Luck Media Co.’s shares, in the afternoon of April 29 and said that he was not troubled by such allegations.

 

Meanwhile, Thai Liberal Party leader Seriphisut Temiyavet said he was not worried about the political situation ahead of the announcement of the results of the election. He commented that pressure would be mounting on the Election Commission after the Constitutional Court had declined to pass a ruling on the formula it used in calculating the allocation of party-list MP seats. He aired his dissent to the Election Commission over its handing of an orange card to the winning candidate in Chiang Mai’s Constituency 8, only because he had made a donation to monks, and charged that the polling agency might well be trying to trim down the votes of an opposing side in connection with Mr. Thanathorn.

If they had won 2 million votes, he would be fine....

Fact is, he is a threat to the trough keepers, and as such he will be removed from the farmyard one way or another.

Lets hope its not via the slaughter house !!!

His success in the election has brought the weight and wrath of the entrenched administration on his head...

 

Will be interesting to see who blinks first...the government holds the power...not interested in sharing...

come up with something else to disqualify him,as

there seems to be no way they are going to let him

into Parliament.

You got that right!

I would suggest the strength of this man is to stand on the side lines giving informed commentary on their economic mismanagement.

 

Not much but will bug them a bit.

Don't forget the 'sedition' charges which are ongoing too!! I expect there will be more to follow!!..........

If all else fails they may well go for LM, probably trailing thought his facebook etc for something to use as a last resort.

They've already got another charge ready-  allowing one of his MP candidates to run when in fact he was unqualified.

Well liked by anti junta voters and an obstacle to continued military rule surely enough reason to  jail or at least ban him for life.

You say with absolute zero proof that has ever happened! His mummy ain't poor.

 

Now blow a whistle at some mafia type don's ex wife and your mum's house gets machined gunned! And that was covered by TVF and other news forums.

I agree with others here. One way or another the regime will get rid of him. I really hope that he has some powerful backers or....a back door.

Most Thai people have donated to Monks ???? the government promotes the practice-this can disqualify someone ????

He may well have avoided this charge if had transferred the shares to a dead friend as this president has been successfully set???? 

Bangkok Post has a good article on the abuse and harassment versus the 'unwanted' FFP. No surprise that the law prohibiting media ownership hasn't been applied to the Phalang Pracharat party...
