My application for visa extension (NON-IMM Marriage) is currently "under consideration" and would be approved on 2nd May 2019. I've a SINGLE RE-ENTRY PERMIT valid until 2nd May. I need to go overseas tomorrow and would only return on 8th May 2019 (that is 6 days after the expiry of my re-entry permit). Would this invalidate my application for visa extension? What are my options? Would appreciate any advice/guidance. Thanks.

If you enter after re-entry permit expires you application is no longer valid since you will only get a 30 day visa exempt entry if you qualify for one.

If possible it would be best to get a single entry non-o visa to make it easier to a apply for a new extension.

You should of contacted immigration this week to find out if the application had to been approved. If not they might of done a new under consideration stamp to allow you a few more days.

Yes.

You need to talk to the immigration office processing the application.

They could give you a 60 day extension on the spot (with your wife present), issue a new re-entry permit for the 60 days, and you could then re-apply or finalise the 1 year extension after you return.

Only 2 options are to return on time, or you postpone 1-2 days and go before your time of May 2 on Monday as sometimes your visa may be already ok already and ready to stamp. I used to go before time and do that. It is possible.

Many thanks to all for the advice(s). Will go to CW on Monday to get an "extension" or I will probably postpone my overseas trip until I get my visa extension stamp on 2 May.
