May 2, 20197 yr If flying into BKK with a connecting flight on to CNX - does the immigration processing happen in Bangkok or Chiang Mai? It’s all booked under one ticket with Thai Airways. Sent from my iPhone using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
May 2, 20197 yr With same ticket you'll be going thru the transit counter thru suvarnabhumi, and handle immigration in CNX.

I think you will find that you clear immigration in Bangkok, then board a domestic flight to CNX, nowbody is doing international flights from BKK to CNX. Transit at any airport where you dont go through immigration is usually off an international flight then board another international flight.

May 3, 20197 yr If one is worried about the arbitrary and lawless treatment reported at Bangkok airports (IOs rejecting-entry for an illegal reason, then covering up their crime with a rejection-stamp based on a lie), the best strategy is to take a flight to somewhere else in the region, then a flight from there direct to Chiang Mai. Why take chances dealing with an entry point known to be staffed by those who openly reject the laws they swore to uphold? Its anarchy - scary. Who can say when an group with the use of force, who are disconnected from honor, law, or meaningful oversight, could go further, and to what degree? Edited May 3, 20197 yr by JackThompson
May 3, 20197 yr If it is a connecting flight (not direct!) with change of planes then immigration has to be done at BKK. How could you enter a domestic flight/domestic terminal (BKK-CNX) without passing immigration first.
