Marc S. Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Hello! Next month I will fly to Singapore to apply for a single entry tourist visa. I stay now with a single entry tourist visa in Thailand before I did visaruns. To my surprise I didnt found a good thread about Singapore so here are my questions: 1. Somebody applied for a visa in Singapore recently? I hope to get some informations about the visa procedure (what time I have to show up, when I get the visa back, do they ask questions, possible problems etc). 2. Do my thai girlfriend need a visa to go to Singapore? I think not. 3. Can you recommend a cheap (below 50 US$) hotel? Cheers Marc
meadish_sweetball Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 At least earlier, Singapore refused to issue 'back to back' tourist visas, i.e. consecutive ones without a break in between. If their policy is still the same, they will not issue you a single entry tourist visa if you already have one in your passport, and will tell you to get the 30 day border stamp. So provided they have not changed their policy, Penang or KL would be a better idea in your case. It is possible they now allow back to back tourist visas - hopefully somebody with more current information will come along.

kosman61 Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I share Marc S.' interest. In particular: 1. How long does it take for the Thai-Consulate in Singapore to issue a single-entry tourist visa? 2. How much does it cost (SGD)? Thanks in advance

seagull Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I looked here:http://www.hotel81.com.sg/hotels.shtml but the prices are higher than 40$ more in the range of 70-130$. Those prices are in Sin $. Conversion rates are Sgd 1.4 to the usd. Prices are different depending on your selection of hotel location. Like in the city area, which is prime district or outside the city area.
Marc S. Posted March 12, 2007 Author Posted March 12, 2007 Ok I cant contacz the embassy in Singapore. What about going to Cambodia for a 30 day stamp and after to Singapore. This is not back to back right? Cheers bac
lopburi3 Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 The rule has nothing to do with back-to-back but 90 days in a six month period. You are likely in the twilight world of not being allowed another 30 day visa exempt entry for a least a few days and taking a chance with that plan.
dolvetius Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Thai passport holders do not need a visa for Singapore for visits up to 2 weeks All members of ASEAN!! Not exactly true! Passport holders from Myanmar need a visa to enter Singapore, regardless of the length of their visit.
