Okay I'll admit it, I am of an age where I need to use Viagra and it has been of tremendous help to me for the past five years. But about one year ago the effacy of Viagra started to reduce and I thought that other health problems had started to come into play. So I went to Bumrungrad and had my annual health check and failed due to blockages of my coronary arteries. Following an angiogram I was prescribed statins, asprin and Plavix. Good news for my heart and life expectancy but no progress on my love life or marital relationship.

I finally went back to Bumrungrad and sought out a Urologist who specializes in erectile dysfunction and relayed all the facts to him. He told me that the problem almost certainly, without the need for further examination, was due to the quality of Viagra I had been buying. He talked of a study that Pfizer did recently in Thailand where they purchased Viagra from a range of pharmacies in Bangkok and elsewhere and then examined the products they had bought - the packaging on nearly all of them was perfect he added. Of two hundred and seventeen purchases of Viagra only fifteen were the original product. O the non-Pfizer products or copies each contained anywhere from 17% to 48% of the required necessary ingredients.

Frankly I found it difficult to believe his story but his offer was that he would prescribe Viagra, Cialis and Levitra and I could try each and judge for myself. The check out/pharmacy attendants were highly amused when I received my prescription and the pharmacist told me to "have a good evening" as I left.

I can now confirm that what the doctor at Bumrungrad told me seems almost certain to be true and I am amazed. I had known all along that copying is a huge problem but never imagined it is so to the extent of this experience.

We'll be waiting for a full repot on that evening, too. :o

Seriously, you might also try a non-prescription herbal medicine called Libidus. Its available over the internet from some firm out of Malaysia. Much cheaper than the drugs you mentioned and less bad side effects (i.e. headaches, etc). Good results too.

Scary to read about these 'copycat' drugs being available and the ever-decreasing quality of Viagra on sale throughout Thailand. There has been a documentary on thai tv showing how to spot the real Viagra packets from the fake ones. They actually looked very similar, but I couldnt notice the difference when I last bought mine.

Keep your pecker up son :o

My experiebces are in agreement with the MD. I have bought Viagra in Surin, Buriram, Bangkok, HuaHin, Pattaya, Jomtien, and Patong Beach, and over the net Results varied...but with none as good as the vit v I get thru my US HMO. the real stuff is far better. Less flushed or tense feeling, speeding feeling etc. I got wood and only wood using 50 mg even power with a little Sang Som. In that venue there is a pharm shop in one of the sois in Patong where they sell Vit V and other things like Kamagra.. I won;'t touch andything but what I get at a US base pharm.

I've been buying Viagra from a hospital on Silom (next to Patpong) for the last 21 years without any problems.

I can be drunk & use Viagra & have no problems.

I used Cialis once while I was drunk & had problems. (Paranoid, sweating, rapid heart beat & breathing problems)

Also check prices, the price of Viagra at the Silom hospital was 1800 baht for a box of 5, the hospital on Convent is almost double that. Hope this helps. Gary :o

Er, Gary mate - Pfizer manufactures Viagra in packs of four, not five and the product is less than ten years old. Methinks this is a misplaced wind up - bored are we?

Some drugs are copied more than others ie Viagra

I work in pharma and have been told by the labeleing guys that some of the packaging is perfect. I know control process guys who will tell you the drug is nowhere near.

Its the same for many generics as well.

PS My old boss worked on the Viagra study when it was trialled for Angina

For the real product I would suggest a hospital pharmacy otherwise it's pot luck on what you are sold. The same problem exists with Kamagra as with Viagra in that the product does not contain the correct dosage of the active ingredients.

Do you exercise regularly? Do you drink a lot? Exercising will increase production of testosterone which will improve sexual performance. Drinking will diminish it. Ingesting any chemical on a regular basis cannot be good for your long term health.

What is the active incredient in Libidus? How does it work, pharmalogically speaking? I am familiar with the prescription drugs and their chemical agents of action but cannot find any clinical information on this one...any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Kamagra worked for me, but what nasty side effects (huge headaches). I bought a product while in India known as Wingora and it works great, even though the packages have now expired. It's such a cheap drug to produce, I can't imagine those making fakes are so <deleted>' greedy that they don't want to put a few baht worth of real ingredients into their product. May they all rot.
