Hi Guys

Hoping for a little help, looks like my employment may well end this week so i guess my visa will be cancelled at some point, what are my options to extend my stay without leaving the country, im married to a Thai, have a kid and plan to apply for a Thai elite visa. Also my visa work permit was done with BOI. and Im located in Chiang Mai.

Thanks in advance for your help

If you have an "extension of stay" from an immigration-office in country, then that ends the day your job ends, and you need to take a letter from your employer confirming this to immigration and get your current extension cancelled.  Be pro-active on this, or it can cause problems later.

At that point, you can apply for an extension based on Marriage to a Thai, if you meet the financial criteria - but as you will no longer be using "work" for income, you'd probably need to use the "money in the bank" method - showing 400K in a Thai bank in your name, which has been there for 2 months prior to the application.  There is some chance the local-office (imaginary rules) will say they won't do it because the reason of stay is changing - though the "official rules" should allow the change of stay-reason for different Non-Immigrant permitted-stay types.

You should also be able to apply for a 60-day extension to "visit your wife" when you cancel your work-based permitted-stay.  That would buy you some time - but, again, it could be up to local-office unofficial-rules.

Worst case, you can make a trip to Savannakhet or HCMC, and apply for a Non-O Visa based on marriage to a Thai.  You can get a "1-Year Multi-Entry" version for 5K Baht - no financial proofs required - and gives you 90-days stay on each entry.  If you only need a single-entry for one 90-day stay, that is also available in Vientiane or the other locations for 2K Baht - a bit more in Vietnam in USD - but not the Multi in Vientiane.
