There is an old thread on this but no real answers.  I do not have a business and I just bring small things into LOS a couple times a year.  I have a $6.28 item stuck in Bangkok that I don't care about.  UPS wanted me to go from CM to BKK to fill out some form.  After much back and forth I was told to go to Customs in CM.  They have never given any idea what this paperless import form is, how to fill out, what it does or what is required.  It is like a one time thing?

Any ideas on how to go about this other that just show up at some random customs place (perhaps multiple times)?

Unfortunately, I see nothing in the links provided that say anything about this "paperless" form.  Some of them are about the post office which doesn't apply to me.

I was hoping to have someone with personal experience the whats and how about this form.

Difficult to call customs service center when I have no idea what to ask.  I would have to tell them that UPS told me "airport", "passport" and "paperless".  I will be happy to call them once I get the basic information.  UPS cannot help.  If they did, I would be able to ask easier.

So you cant ask "can you help me with information on  "paperless form" I have been asked for" ?

Best of luck, the help you need is beyond me.

You can search online. The Internet has many answers. Maybe it beneficial to you.

I am pretty good at searches and I spent hours doing just that.  I can find no information on this except a little on business importers.

I did get some additional information from UPS corporate headquarters, that in this case it is used to authorize UPS to be the customs broker.  They are "supposed" to contact me on Monday.

I also got another call from UPS Bangkok asking if I authorized them to "abandon" my shipment.  Since it was for $6.28 and Amazon already reimbursed me, I agreed.  I asked what about the future and was told "no worries".  So who knows what that means.

One really weird thing about this was that I initially received two invoices from UPS customs with tracking numbers.  One was the cheap item for $6.28.  The other was for a cell phone.  I assumed that it was indeed for me since the invoice said cell phone and the price was very close to what I paid.  It turns out that it was actually for someone else.  My cell phone did not get held up by customs.
