THAILAND, (NNT) - Many schools in provinces outside of Bangkok have also started the new school semester, with many parents sending off their children at school this morning requiring facilitation and assistance from officials to prevent traffic congestion.

Starting in Uthai Thani where all schools have already started the new school year, with lively atmosphere at all schools, especially at Anuban Muang Uthai Thani School where parents usually drive their children to school by cars and motorcycles.

Police officers are on site in front of the school to arrange the road traffic in front of the school into one-way direction for parents dropping off students at the gate to prevent traffic congestion. Uthai Thani Primary Education Area 1 Office Director has set up a committee to visit schools under it supervision to oversee and promote road safety at school, the safety and preparedness of school facilities including the electrical system, playgrounds, and learning media.

Travelling south to Yala, in addition to parents sending off children at schools, special security officials providing protection to teachers are working to maintain security in the area, while students have helped cleaning up the school and classrooms before their class. The overall first day of school today is orderly.

Schools in Pattani is also lively on the first day of new semester after a long break. Students have helped clean up the school and prepare for the new semester. Rangers and volunteers have formed units to maintain security at some 300 schools in Yala province, and enhanced safety measures to protect teachers and educational staff during their commute in wake of recent bombing incidents in several areas.
