Non O 60 day stamp???

Featured Replies

The husband of my wife's friend is here on a non-o "married to a Thai/Thai children".

He has been extending it yearly but doing visa runs every 90 days. This has been going on for 4 years.

Last time he came back from Laos and said immigration had only stamped him in for 60 days? Is this possible?

I'm not sure if he was getting a new visa or just doing a visa run/bounce.

I know he is skint so probably had no money to show at Vientiane. Do they still not ask for proof of funds at the Embassy if getting a new visa?

She is worried that he is going to be blacklisted/refused entry next time? He also refuses to show her his passport/stamp (she isn't sure he even went?)

It seems he has been getting multiple entry non-o visa and has been doing border runs to get new 90 day entries. He certainly has not been getting extensions at immigration.

The 60 day entry stamp sounds like an error done by the officer on entry. He can get that error corrected at his local immigration office.

Vientiane does not ask for financial proof to get a single entry non-o visa. They do not issue multiple entry visas.

He could get a multiple entry non-o visa in Savannakhet with no financial proof.

Yes border runs to get new entries. I'll tell her to get a look at his passport.
