I am looking to start a massage course in the coming months and am interested in buying a decent textbook beforehand to familiarise myself with the content. Any ideas about which textbook is most helpful or accurate - Ive looked in the book shops and there are so many - without reading too much of them I'm not sure which one might be the most appropriate.

As a side not - regarding massage courses - I am pretty sure I will take the course at Wat Po - but if anyone else has any experiences from other locations I would appreciate any input.

The books by Assocananda (a German teacher based in Thailand) are the most popular sellers and cheapest.

Most of the other books were written by his students and are much more expensive.

1) Thai Traditional Massage

2) Thai Traditional Massage for Advanced Learners

3) Thai Traditional Massage in the Side Position

These are his 3 books in order. Each one is more difficult than the last.

He also has Energy Line Charts available.
