The consequences of forgetting?

Featured Replies

Forgot to report my address for two months. Anyone know of the consequences at Imm?

Last, please if anyone know of an office closer to Onut or Udomsuk, please let me know. Imm Chang Wattana is so far.

Many thanks.

IF you send a email to yourself and keep it in your inbox then use that as reminder in future, do it myself, very effective..

You will pay a 2000 baht fine for late reporting.

Chaeng Wattana immigration is the only office you can report to.

If one has an email, likely one has the calendar that goes with it. Also calendar on a phone can do the job. When I return from immigration, before the PP gets put away, I plug the 90 day report due date into the calendar, with a reminder for 14 days prior. (To see if I can get online to work this time!)

I think I would not survive without the help.

Unfortunately, you'll now have to make that trip and report in person.

2,000 baht fine for late report.

Don't go Monday 3rd June, closed, national holiday.

For the future a calendar reminder 14 days beforehand.

Online or by post are alternative options than in person.

They can charge you up to 5,000 baht, but the usual (standard) fine is 2,000 baht.

There are no consequences other than a fine.

I get my staff to manage this, never forgotten yet.

As we get older we forget.  Forgetting is a mortal sin punishable by imprisonment and expulsion.

Only elderly Thais can forget.  Only elderly Thais may be forgiven for dementia, Alzheimer's or cognitive decline.  They receive compassionate respect.
Farang on the other hand receive incarceration and the boot.  Farang with dementia, Alzheimer's or cognitive decline are simply gaming the system and need to be punished.

You're not welcome here - Just know your place.

I am a luddite,so i have a calendar on the wall beside the breakfast table,

so every morning I see it,filled in when to do 90 day reports, when my

extension is due,etc ,etc, etc,,the battery never runs out,all i have to do

is glance at it, i religiously fill in the dates,as soon as you get the passport

back,90 day is returned, it could save you 1,900 THB ,thats at Chiang Mai,

so it's worth doing.

There is an agent in onnut who does 90-day reporting. Talk to them. They may provide better solution for a fee.

Can you remember to look at the email periodically? Same same but different I guess ????.

One could use one of the thousands of calendar apps available for free.

I am personally active with email and communicate via email with my friends, so that works out great for me. If someone not,,, then do whatever suits you guys..

Agreed. I was just offering an obvious alternative to your suggestion.

No offense intended.

I also put tags on emails but the tags don't force me to look at them. After a few days they are just part of the inbox scenery.

I did not do it for 6 months, then got there did it, and they never even know. I doubt it is on the system anyway.

Once earlier this year in Feb. I forgot so yes the fine is 2000 THB.  However my ever friendly Immigration office is in Udon Thani . Imagine my surprise when I looked later to see he had slipped a 1000 note back in my passport. Now I guess like other offices the "no tips" sign has gone so when I did my last 90 day , last week, my wife took in 200 bahts worth of particularly obnoxious smelling dried fish for them. Very appreciative they were to.

My motto is "what goes round comes round" in this case it was true for them.
