Clarifying Something Re: 30 Day Extension

Featured Replies

hey guys. I am on a Tourist Visa (60 days) and I am planning on extending it by 30 days at the BKK immigration office, the last day of the visa APR 8th, is a sunday so if i want to get the extension ahead of time, it would be 30 days FROM the date i go to the office right ? I am pretty sure thats how it works, but just want to make sure. Also iam guessing to avoid crowds maybe go as early as possible in the morning ?

thanks for any insight.

On a visa entry is is normally 30 days from your permitted to stay stamp expiration so you lose nothing doing it early.

Well, as Lopburi3 rightly pointed out, the extension is from the last date that u were initially allowed and not the date u get the extension done at the office. I had been there a week beofre mine was to expire and got an extension from the date it was to expire.

got another question, didnt want to waste a new thread on it :

Can i get an extension of a TR (tourist) visa for a friend ? Iam doing mine and want to do his as well. We have exact same visas and entry/exit dates and our both the same nationality. I kinda doubt this is possible but want to see.

thanks for any help !
