Visa conversion

Featured Replies

Am I the only Indian national who is wanting to try job hunting in Thailand on a tourist visa? I dont think looking for a job on a tourist visa is illegal. Working without a work permit is illegal. My query is - is it possible to land a job and obtain a work permit and do some visa conversion when I am there? Has this been tried by an Indian national? Am sure  my compatriots are reading this post. Others are welcome to comment. Thanks! M Kumar

I am aware of the stereotype. But the answer is, regretfully, no.

I have a degree in Arts. I am 40. At the beginning of my career after college, I worked in computer retail. Then there was the stint of some five years working for US and Uk-based business outsourcing firms as a customer care executive. I have been working in real estate for the last five years.

I inquired with a few good Tefl schools in Thailand but they said they could not guarantee a job because I was not a native speaker of English.
