What is this flower used for?

Recommended Posts

I have in my garden a kind of ivy plant which has almost constantly beautiful flowers.
Last week, an old lady in my street was collecting these flowers which were hanging on my fence.
I tried to find out why she was collecting these flowers, and she explained (in Thai) that she used the flowers to put them in water bottles in order to give the water a good smell or taste (was not clear to me).
Does anybody knows more about this flower and more importantly for what it is used for?
TIA

I don't know what the flower is. Thai name is un sun. My GF and her friends boil it up all the time, and claim it has therapeutic properties - good for the digestive system.

My wife makes a tea occasionally using the flowers. She calls it "Ah Chan" which may be Lao language.

No wonder we farangs get confused when Thais are mixing Lanna and Lao.
