report CW 30 days visa exemption to a non immigrant o

Hello,

just want to report my experience from a visit in CW to convert my 30 days visa exemption to a non immigrant o based on retirement

i turned 50 years a couple of weeks ago and transfered 800.000 THB from a bank outside thailand to my kasikorn bank account.

- first stop counter for a queue number, they only checked if my visa exemption is still valid and i had minimum 15 days left to departure date

- get number 64, walk to counter and it was already number 63 displayed, so not even 5 minutes later i sit at desk with the IO

- documents i gave here were copy passport (first page, entry stamp and TM6), copy of all pages bankbook, form TM87 with picture,

  guarantee letter from kasikorn bank (applied at the same day in the KK branch downstairs in CW for 100 THB) printed map to see

  where i life.

- first IO asked where i life. I told her my landlord register me online. So she looked her computer, and of course a problem

  came up as my landlord still register me with my old passport number, altough i gave him the new number already a few month ago.

  But was not a big deal, the IO sorted it out quickly and problem was solved.

- documents were not complete. IO asked also for a document to proof money comes from outside thailand. So back to KK

  bank downstairs and applied for a credit advice for this transfer. Back to IO, all documents complete now, paid my 2000 THB and she told me

  to come back in two weeks to get the visa stamped in my passport.

So far so good, not to difficult. The only thing which is a bit disturbing: The IO said to me in the next days another IO will call

me to make an appointment to visit my place to check if i really life there. And it is very important i pick up this call,

as the IO will only call once. In her own words "if not pick up phone, big problem" I asked here what happend if i sit exactly at this

moment on toilet, and she answered mai pen rai, i have to take this call at any circumstances, and she looked very serious when she

told me that. I asked her in which time slot this call will come, but the only answer was i dont know, may be 3 to 4 days, not sure.

So i will now wait patiently for this call amd i hope this will all go smoothly.

Any experience from other TV members about this call and IO visit you at thome?
