zhounan
Already gone to three branches of SCB an all refuse me because I don't have a Work Permit. Someone who lives here and opened an account with a Non-O Visa?
HampiK
have it to be SCB? Kasikornbank at IconSiam accept as long you have a longstay Visa (1 year). Till now almost every bank I tried they only wanted to see a longstay visa… or when not, then a yellow book would do the thing (Krungthai). zhounan
To apply for a extension based on marriage the rules is to open a bank account and put in 400k baht. (Why still give credit to Criminal Financial System?) If you refuse me to open an account, How can I apply for this extension? Such contradictory is it! Isaanbiker
Try Bangkok Bank and bring your visa too. A friend, first refused, had 400,000 in cash and it wasn't a problem anymore. If there's a problem, please ask for the manager.
lopburi3
Bangkok Bank will normally require a letter from your Embassy to open an account these days - been there and had letter - but it was over a month old and not accepted for that and not specific enough - had to obtain a new letter and spell out why account in my name only was required (to show deposits for immigration). I already had a joint account at another branch. Believe they need that letter as backstop if any questions later. FYI: today unable to use ibanking to pay Shopee bill. Lazada stopped accepting foreigners using wallet a week or two ago.
