Is it possible to change from an Ed Visa to a retirement Extension without leaving Thailand

Yes it is possible to do it.

You will need a letter from the school stating the date you studies have ended so that your current extension can be canceled before the extension based upon retirement is done.

You may be told no by a few offices so I suggest you check with your local office about it.

They might not accept it. All that is really required is a non immigrant visa but some office will insist it has to be a non-o visa.

All he can do is ask or try submitting the application.
