BANGKOK, 20 June 2019 (NNT) - Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has instructed all agencies to ensure that the ASEAN Summit will be held smoothly in all respects, without temporary closures to road traffic.

Gen Prayut inquired about the preparedness of related agencies for the ASEAN Summit regarding automobiles, motorcycles and ambulances for ASEAN leaders’ travel from the airport to hotels where they are staying and meeting.

The spouses of the ASEAN leaders are being taken care of during their stay in Thailand. The premier also inquired about a rehearsal of traffic management this weekend. He instructed that no roads will be closed, except for some stretches during the Summit.

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam quoted Deputy Prime Minister/Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, who is in charge of security measures, as assuring the cabinet that no untoward incidents will occur. The premier today chaired a meeting at Government House on preparations for the ASEAN Summit and related meetings.

Reckon they have put the right man on "Watch"

Certainly qualified!

Just as "smooth" as the recently stolen rigged so-called "election". Hope at least some ASEAN leaders can see through your BS, although regrettably most of them will admire your successful sham.

Apparently the Thai government didn't even bother until Wednesday to inform the US Embassy that their location on Wireless Rd. would be effected by closures for two days. The Embassy didn't send out an alert until later that day. Some  Thai actions are now becoming overtly hostile. Guess China is calling the shots.

I expect that it quite simply did not occur to them to inform the embassies. Nothing more, nothing less.

Some people really know how to wear a suite.

China is not a member of ASEAN.

Zydeco, you may be confusing "overt hostility " with laziness and incompetence.

Maybe he can introduce compulsory reading? Animal Farm?

Thank goodness he ordered for the summit to be kept smooth because common sense would indicate this wouldn't be the goal...right? Any opportunity to pose as a valid leader I suppose.

All hail the great leader, no "requests" here then.
