But I seem to have a vague recollection that the festival was refused a permit for 2008. Is that correct? Will it not be taking place this year? geriatrickid Posted March 18, 2008 Share Posted March 18, 2008 I stopped for a beer at the tents on beach Rd. last year and I was put in charge of my friends bags while they socialized. I was distracted by some girls and well, one bag was stolen. I still haven't heard the end of it. So if this thing is on again, be careful with your bags and pickpockets. Phuket’s first Gay Festival and Parade was staged in 1999 and was an instant crowd pleaser for tourist and native alike – Gay and straight. The 2008 festival is soon to be scheduled.
