Best Thai Bank for International purchasing and ATM withdrawals

Featured Replies

I couldn't find the information when doing a search.

The Thai banks's websites are very limited and never show all the fees if any... You try to call the phone customer service and they never speak much English.

I was wondering if anyone has done the research yet or are with a Thai bank and know what their fees are for International purchases and ATM withdrawals. I travel around SEA and want to use a Thai bank debit credit card.

I only know of the fees of one bank at the moment!

Bankok Bank

2.5% on international purchases

2.5% on international ATM withdrawals plus 100 baht

I'm asking about fees outside of Thailand.

CIMB website has detailed fees listed

No fee on withdrawal or balance inquiry at ATM of banks under CIMB Group in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Cambodia

Fee on overseas withdrawal: THB 100 / transaction

Fee on overseas balance inquiry: THB 100 / transaction

Fee on spending: Up to THB 2.5% of spending amount in foreign currency

I called Cimb where she only spoke little English and said purchasing aboard, there's 0%. ???? I think I believe their website instead (2.5%)!

Kiatnakin Bank

Same as Climb except 15 baht balance inquiry

I would love a credit card purchasing aboard fees to be less than 1% if possible from a Thailand bank!

Krungsri is the best one at 2% for international ATM withdrawals. The only bank that doesn't charge for using other banks or when you go to other provinces.

Krungsri Debit All ATMs CARD

-----------------------------

480 baht for 3 years

No ATM fees national wide at any bank

International ATM: 100 baht

Purchasing something overseas= 2%

They also have a no annual fee card

Krungsri Debit No Annual Fee Card

----------------------------------

No annual fee

15000 minimum in account all the time or else you pay 50 baht for the month

ATM fee: no fee, other banks = 10 baht

ATM other province: 15 baht, other banks = 20 baht

International ATM: 100 baht

Purchasing something overseas= 2%

Take note that those "no annual fee" debit cards have requirements that add up to the same as an annual fee.  Krungsri's card requires you to subscribe to SMS at 19 baht a month = 228 per year.  About the same as a basic "with fee" card from other banks.

No free lunches it seems.

Thanks, that's how they get you with extra charges where I called them up and they said you can't turn it off, you have to pay!
