snoop1130
BMA urges parents to take children to get rotavirus vaccine By The Nation File photo Parents of young children should take their charges to hospitals and clinics to receive free rotavirus vaccines so as to prevent severe diarrhoea, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration on Monday urged. BMA deputy governor Thaweesak Lertpraphan said parents of children, who are between two months old and four years could take their children for the vaccine at the BMA’s community clinics or hospitals every Tuesday from noon to 3pm. He said the rotavirus caused infections and severe diarrhoea among those newly born to four years old, at a cost to the BMA of Bt4,300 for medical treatment. It is both safer for the children and cheaper for the BMA to provide free vaccines. He said about 17,000 young children fell sick with the rotavirus in 2018 in Bangkok.
