Are people actually trying to say that’s what caused recent earthquakes? lol earthquakes have been a natural occurrence since before people were on the earth. It happens when tech tonic plates shift under the earth or when fault lines act up. I’m no geologist but I at least know that much.

Grew up in So Cal too and Earthquakes were a part of life.  I was working during the 1994 Northridge Earthquake  and it hit at 0430 and was a 6.7.  The epicenter was in a more populated area and many

  • Maybe I'm just old school, but seems like if ground shaking, then it is probably an earthquake. Don't need an app for that.

now we know that the largest EQ  in that region happened directly under the military base.    Apparently the Precursor to it also happened on the Base,  but not in a populated area (but within the boundaries of the operation.)

Ok well I do believe I’ve heard it all now thanks.

now where th hELl did i PUT MY sEROQUEL?

I lived in Ridgecrest from 1979 to 1986. My wife at the time worked for a military contractor on CLNWC. I visited CLNWC numerous times. I worked for Kerr McGee at their Westend facility in Trona. In the mid 80's there were two quakes that emptied the selfs in stores of Ridgecrest and Trona. I worked daily with a gentleman whose family had a ranch where the Coso Volcanic Field and geothermal generating station is located and it is on CLNWC. GPS 36.0375964619, -117.798744302 I had an opportunity to visit it. That ranch was located where the Coso field is. https://openei.org/wiki/Coso_Geothermal_Area

The gentleman was born on that ranch. In gave me some interesting insight to the area not least he told me that in 1943 when the government  started buying up the land the offer that was made to his family was totally unacceptable. 1986 was the last time I saw him and he was still upset over that. He passed away in 1996 and is buried in the Trona cemetery. As for the quakes look back to just last year at the lower Puna eruption on Hawaii. There was a geothermal plant involved. I know where my money is.

Btw in 1979 Ridgecrest had a population of about 10k and had 1 flashing red traffic. In 1986 it had grown to about 22k and 6 full traffic lights. Now its population is over 28k. My plant GPS 35.704699091, -117.393755375 shared boundaries with CLNWC and due to my job the things I saw would make anyone scratch their head.

Actually CA had gone 20 years without an earthquake of 6 so there is a generation with little awareness of more than a gentle swing.

I think California is known for its swinging
