Good evening, 

 

Question, I'm dual citizen UK and Canadian. Currently in Hanoi, Vietnam and soon to be Hochi Minh on holiday and entered on my British passport (visa free entry).

 

Im married and registered in Thailand on Canadian passport.  Would I be able to apply for my non-o me Thai Visa at thai consulate in HCMC with my Canadian passport despite not entering Vietnam on that visa?  Will Thai Immigration care?

 

Has anyone any previous experience with this.   Thanks Kindly..

There is a chance that the consulate will not accept your application without an entry stamp for Vietnam in your Canadian passport. Many embassies and consulate do that to insure and have proof that the person was actually in the country where the application is done.

You could try but attach a copy of the photo page and entry stamp for Vietnam in your Uk passport to the application.

No problem with Thai immigration when entering the country.

Thanks @ubonjoe , you were the one I thought may provide a clearer answer to this.

 

I think I will wait until my next trip then to apply for this.  No point in trying to cause too much confusion / problems at the consulate.  

 

Follow up question - is there any issues when you apply for a new non-immigrant o metv with a new passport number.  For example, old passport number is on marriage cert.
