webfact
Opposition to intensify campaign for constitutional amendments The seven-party opposition coalition has stepped its campaign to solicit public support for its attempt to amend the Constitution and to educate the people about the Constitution. Speaking at a news conference, after a meeting of representatives from the seven opposition parties held today (Monday) at the head office of the Pheu Thai party, Pheu Thai MP Anusorn Iamsa-ard said that the opposition will hold public discussions on constitutional issues to increase public awareness about the existing Constitution and the reasons why it should be amended. He claimed that many people these days share with politicians their understanding of the Constitution and the need for it to be amended. Caldera
I applaud their efforts, but I think this constitution needs to be put through the shredder and rewritten from scratch. It's hard to see how a few amendments here and there can fix it.
londonthai
They should push for referendum with 3 choices: for constitution from 1996 for constitution from 2007 for constitution from 2017 probably they would need millions of signatures and movement above political parties for promotion of referendum. Probably without mass street protests, strikes, blockades, student organisations reaching out to voters etc they still won’t achieve nothing Edited July 9, 2019 by londonthai
