Write your email adress on a text document then copy and paste, it's works for me (in Paris).

Use a resizing programme or app to reduce the file size. Think on the Mac the system is Preview, lots of instructions online if you google "image resizer". 

Surely you have some kind of photo editing app on a IPhone that can you can use a to resize and/or crop it.
